“Take Pride Winnipeg!”

Written By: Yvonne - Oct• 16•11

This awesome program has resulted in hundreds of award-winning murals throughout the city and every day we zoom around our neighbourhood and end up discovering a few different ones.

“Power Play” is the newest mural in honour of the Winnipeg Jets’ return to Winnipeg and is located at the corner of Portage Avenue and Furby Street.  This beautifully designed piece shows the evolution of hockey in this city and goes from the Winnipeg Falcons gold medal Olympic team (1920) to Bobby Hull (old Jets) to the current team.

Enjoy today’s blog as we explore the “Murals of Winnipeg”.  This program has been instrumental in bringing local artists and community groups together to keep graffiti  and grime off the walls.
