We recently enjoyed a leisurely Sunday stroll through our neighbourhood and down Wellington Crescent.
What I found interesting is The City of Winnipeg closes two major roads, Wellington and Wolseley, to car traffic and these streets turn into bike, walking and running routes for the locals!
The closures are in effect from 8:00 am to dusk on Sundays and Statutory Holidays starting on the May long weekend and running until the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Posted signs on various street corners advise automobiles about the road closures, and the city also places barricades at the end of each closed section.
Enjoy today’s pictures from our recent Sunday saunter.

WOW, closing traffic for bikes and pedestrians! This gets my attention..what a concept…lets bring this idea to Toronto. the only thing I know of in Toronto is pedestrian sundays in Kensington Market! Looks like a lovely place! We had a nice sunday bike ride in Toronto today…taking mostly side streets rather then the main ones to avoid cars.
