I find it interesting that at the beginning of our zoom across Canada we took a ferry to Newfoundland to reach the capital city of St. John’s. Now, several months later, at the end of our zoom, we are taking another ferry to arrive at our last provincial capital city, Victoria, BC. Both the eastern and western tips of our country are on islands. Pretty cool, eh?
We arrived at the ferry terminal an hour before our reservation time and enjoyed strolling through the Tsawwassen Quay Market. This market-style centre contains over 16,000 sq. ft. of funky shops and delish restaurants.
We shared the waterway with several boats including sailboats. Wow – sailing in December in Canada? !
Once we disembarked from the ferry in Swartz Bay, we had a quick 30-minute drive to our new home. We are living in the downtown area in Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour. We are already adapting to the milder climate here. The temperature was 10 °C. Looks like Jim and I will be able to hang up our winter jackets for a while (big smile).
Project Zoom will be enjoying Christmas with family, as residents of Victoria — our final provincial capital city. We will resume the zoom on January 1, 2012.

Have a wonderful Christmas with your family! You must almost be ready to stop zooming for a while. It has been grand to zoom with you from Regina to Victoria; after Christmas I should have time to catch up on your travels from the East Coast to Regina where I first learned of your zooming.
Thank you Susan. We are looking forward to recharging our batteries to allow us to complete our final month in beautiful Victoria, BC, in January. Have a terrific holiday season!
