January 1st marks the start of another year and is an opportunity for Victorians to pay their respects during the New Year’s Day Levée at Government House.
British Columbia’s 28th Lieutenant Governor can certainly throw a party, complete with yummy refreshments and live music!
This annual open house provided the perfect chance for Project Zoom to meet the Honourable Steven L. Point, OBC, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia and Her Honour, Mrs. Gwendolyn Point.
It was not until the words “this is my last Government House to visit on this project” were out of my mouth that it hit me. Our zoom is really getting closer to being completed. Oh well, that’s another blog post story…..back to the New Year’s Day Levee and the Lieutenant Governor.
Prior to his current appointment, His Honour performed the role of elected Chief of the Skowkale First Nation for 15 years.
After we enjoyed the festivities we strolled the beautiful historic grounds where wild life and human life come together to play.
We even stopped to smell the roses that were starting to bloom! Living in Victoria in January certainly has some benefits (wink).
